what if I’ve never danced before?
What are you waiting for? Lines Vermont is an excellent place to start! We offer classes for beginners in nearly every dance discipline—and believe us—you won’t be the only beginner in class! Our teachers all have experience working with those new to dance, and we make a point of ensuring our class atmosphere is supportive and confidence-building. The only way to leave the realm of beginner is to start taking class … so join us!
What do I wear to class?
The most important consideration is that our studio flooring is high-tech Marley and can be damaged by metal, dirt and grit on the bottom of your shoes. For this reason it’s extremely important that outdoor shoes and heels with spikes not be worn in the studio. The Lines Store carries many brands of dance footwear—or, for ballet, jazz and contemporary classes you can come barefoot or in socks. Clean, indoor sneakers are appropriate for hip hop classes. As for the rest of your attire, we don’t care! But we recommend you wear something you can move easily in that doesn’t chafe.
What’s the parking situation?
We have 17 designated spaces available onsite, indicated by signage and shared by the studio and store. Please note that it’s VERY important to mind the signs designating Lines parking, as towing is enforced in the lot. For larger classes (like Master Classes) we may run out of spots. But don’t worry! There is another lot on Farrell Street just north of the Lines lot with plenty of parking, and it’s only a 60-second walk to the studio. You’ll find it on the west side of Farrell, right across from Blueprints and just north of the Chittenden Women’s Correctional Facility. See map.
do you have mats and props for the fitness classes?
Yes! We provide mats and all props needed for Pilates, Body by Barre and yoga classes. Don't worry about lugging anything with you!
what if I need to cancel my class reservation at the STudio?
For regular weekly drop-in classes, if you cancel your class reservation 12 hours before class starts you’ll receive a credit for a future class. For Master Classes, you must cancel 24 hours in advance to receive a credit. Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer refunds for any cancelled classes. Cancellations made outside of the windows specified above will be forfeited.
i’m going to be late to class! Should I still come?
You should still come if you can get there within the first 20 minutes of class. We unfortunately can’t admit clients to class who are more than 20 minutes late, because not being properly warmed up poses a serious risk of injury. Being more than 20 minutes late to class is considered a late cancellation.
What is your refund policy at the Store?
We do not issue refunds, but are happy to exchange or provide store credit for any item that’s unworn and in its original packaging within 14 days of your purchase.
What facilities to you have at the studio?
We have separate changing rooms for women and men, two single-occupancy bathrooms and one shower. We recommend you bring your own shampoo, body wash and a towel.
Is your studio space available to rent?
Can I watch classes in session?
Yes you can! We have a small seating area right outside of the studio’s glass doors where you can observe the dancers in action.
